Gwyneth Paltrow’s facialist reveals her autumn skincare tips
With misty mornings and cooler temperatures, autumn brings a whole new set of challenges for skincare.
Here celebrity facialist Chelsee Lewis - who counts Gwynnie, Stella McCartney, Suki Waterhouse and Erin O’Connor as her clients - offers her top four tips for looking after your skin this autumn.
BLAST PUFFINESS
“Massage the face before bed to boost your micro circulation and detox the skin. This works wonders for puffiness, water retention and tired skin. The next morning your face should look more rested and with an added glow,” says Chelsea.
ICE, ICE BABY
“This is is one of my favourite tricks,” says Chelsee. “Fill the sink with cold water and ice, then splash your face 15-20 times to boost circulation before you apply your make-up. It will make the skin feel incredibly tight and works wonders for tired skin. “
BATHE WITH EPSOM SALTS
“This is the Supermodel’s favourite secret. Rich in magnesium sulphate it’s great for glowing skin, and also helps to ease tension and boost better sleep.”
MILK THISTLE AND VITAMIN C
“This is my go-to after a night out to restore tired, bloated skin.” says Chelsee. “Take one table of milk thistle and one 1000mg of vitamin C before or after alcohol. The vitamin C will help flush the booze out of your system, while the milk thistle protects and help detox the liver. It’s also an antioxidant, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory.”
